He opened the front door, to get some fresh air. After the last set of squats with around 70 kg he started to breath heavy. He said, his legs were burning, but it was a good feeling. Just like every Wednesday evening, Daniel worked hard in the English personal training session at ago Sport. He knew that there were still exercises to come, for example some strength exercises for the upper body and a spicy endurance part to finish the session. Daniel O. has been living in Germany for three years. He moved all the way from Texas to Germany, with his wife and two kids, to work for a local company. Daniel used to visit the fitness center and went for a few runs per week. Someday his wife came back from a tennis lessons with the kids and told Daniel that there is a small gym right beside the tennis court (have a look at our location in Köln-Hochkirchen). She wanted to do some workouts in a small group session with her friends over there. She liked it a lot and after some time she convinced Daniel to give the English personal training a try, too.

Daniel never had a personal trainer before and was positively surprised after the first sessions with his personal trainer Christian:

“I like the personal attention and customization. The trainer is working with me in detail and pushing me to my limits. One-hour English personal training is more effective than two hours in the gym. So, it fits my requirements and I stick to it.”

Daniels workouts are designed to be full body workouts. As a project manager he is flying to the U.S. nearly every week. His neck and lower back are taking a beating from the long flights. The workouts are designed to relax these muscles and strengthen them to prevent pain during the flights.

He also had a knee injury a few years ago, which we can treat with some stability exercises for his leg. As a former rugby player, Daniel also wanted to get into an overall good physical shape again.

Daniels English personal training workouts are always different, but there are some routines. The sessions are always starting with a warm up, including mobilization, stretching and activation of the body.

After that the English personal training continues with strength training to stabilize Daniels knee and prevent neck and lower back pain. The strength training part includes weight training and exercises for the core with his own body weight.

At the end of the English personal training Daniel must do some exercise to develop his endurance and energy system. This is one of the most exhausting parts, but after all Daniel is happy when he finishes his workouts.

Even if he’s tired from work, he’s looking forward to the workouts. But he always says at the end: “I appreciate it!”.
